New Beginnings

I would love to give mad props to our new president, Dr. P, for just being fabulous.  I’m so excited to be working at the college in a time of such great energy and excitement.  Part of this energy is feeding off projects started by our former president, such as the Fitness and Athletic Center, the new Green Village, and the network upgrade.

A significant part, though, comes with the excitement of the unknown, and the presence of someone new and different.  For example, as I strive to be more crunchy granola in my “old” age, I was thrilled to find out that Dr. P is the first SB president to drive a hybrid car.  At our campus workday yesterday, and then again in our Multi-office retreat, Dr. P talked to us about the future–about continuing to create an environment where future students who love to “do” and contribute in meaningful ways to their communities, and to the greater global community, can find their place and do great things.

I think our students, and our future students, will appreciate this continual focus on making this place a hotbed for movers, shakers, and doers.  Welcome, Dr. P, and I think you’ll be in very good company here at the Briar!
